  The Craziest Thing You Did To Get in Trouble, That Wasn't a DFing Offense?

  I had some friends that unscrewed kingdom melodies tapes (this was in the 80s) took out the contents and replaced it with rock. so if you looked at the tape collection in their car they looked like they only ever listened to kingdom melodies. Wankers.

  I personally used to get semi drunk before conventions, leave my sunnies on all day and snooze. Or steal my mates keys from their meeting bag and take their car for a joy ride around the city during the sessions, returning it safely just in time. If you were lucky you could even put it back in the same car spot.

  Oh i used to write cryptic names on my lapel badge instead of my own, that if you said quick enough said something stupid.

  I wass sooooo bored.

  We took ours to a recycling centre...hope theyre all made into toilet paper.

  Just out of interest there is an Australian biography (not by a jw or anything) called 'My place" where one of the characters actually regularly takes the watchtower mags because they couldnt afford toilet paper during the post WW2 depression and the WTBTS paper was pretty good quality. True story!

  do you realize that the organization keeps you captive through the manipulation of guilt?

  they make you feel guilty because you didn't auxillary pioneer when you knew you could've.. they make you feel bad about yourself for masturbating although they know everyone does it.. they try to make you feel bad because you didn't contribute as much money as you could because you went on vacation....and so forth.. isn't it great to not feel guilt anymore over these things???

  At my wifes fathers funeral one elder said to her " you really need to come back to the meetings or you will never get to see your father again" Her loud and disgusted retort was "if this is one of your newer recruiting methods you people make me sick to the stomach". Gotta love the lack of tact and emotional blackmail.

  The funniest thing that ever happened once was that the same day the local cong had scheduled to do rurals turned out to be the same day the police decided to do an aerial raid on some known drug growers. So theres helicopters soaring around overhead, police 4WDs every few kms and several car loads of JWs. Poor hippies didnt know what had hit them.

  No sorry, dont know them. THis guy lives in oz but has family in scotland.

  I wonder if JW in other countries "do the rurals"? you know you pack everyone in the stationwagon and head of into the wide blue yonder all f*&^ing day and preach to hippies that are mostly stoned. You were always scared as a kid that someones huge dog was going to eat you as you walked the half kilometre up the dammed driveway to the house. MInd you if you met on person an hour you were lucky. What a screwed up childhood I had. Other kids remeber fishing and camping with their parents. I remember being made to sit in the back of an old stationwagon for 14 hours at a time while the car filled up with dust - no aircon and its 38 degrees Celcius, wearing a blasted tie, just to talk to some red neck about the end of this system of things!!!

  No Ninja but know plenty there. MY partner used to go out with a JW scotsman long time ago....real ^$#*. Sorry that wasnt meant to sound as if I dont like scots...just one in particular.

  Nice to see theres a few of out there. It might be a big country but the jw crowd seems to be small...you are always running into someone who knows someone else.

  Now that our retarded government has changed the legislation regarding Indigneous communities, people no longer have to get Aboriginal community leaders permission to enter their lands. JWs are now wetting their pants at the new 'witlessing' oppourtunities. Hey its just what they need right! THeyre battling issues with alcholism, unemployment and third world living conditions in some of these communities...now they just need another white dude telling how they should be living their lives right! Those living in Darwin and NT be prepared for an influx of "do gooders" moving to where the need is greater!

  I found the majority fairly average with a sprinkling of lukekwarm iq's here and there. Hey my own mother stated once during an arguement about the fact that the society doesnt like you to study anything other than their material that " i dont want to think".

  I found it extremely infuriating as a teen that some halfwit was allowed to read the watchtower to the hall on a sunday because he was some elders son, yet he couldnt pronounce half the words in the text, nor did he understand anything he was reading. I used to mutter the correct pronounciation for each word as he *^&$ed it up under my breath.

  I used to delight in using words he screwed up in the reading within an answer just to piss him off, because I would say them correctly. Sometimes I would actually point out the fact that it had been mispronounced.

  It used to freak them out if I quoted from a King james version or found extra info that supported their theories but wasnt WTBT lit, when presenting something on the ministry school.

  i have to assume it would be a new talk since they have reopened the heavenly calling once again.. it would be refreshing .

  Who as a kid was shitting themselves they would either

  A. spill the wine or

  B. some uncontrolable urge would overtake them and they would drink the wine or have a nibble as the bread went past?

  I did or I would stress the whole night one of my younger siblings would have a slurp as it went gliding past.

  One of my brothers would always whisper in my ear when I had the wine in my hand "its really blood you know". and it would freak me out.

  exciting news - stop the presses - her husband has been made an elder.

  she is 27 and he is 26... is that not a little young to be an elder?

  My cousin was made an elder in his late twenties...he wasnt married and had such a sheltered life I wondered at the time how he could provide any advice to a person as he had no life experince. In a conversation about medications for depresssion he stated that people that were suffering from depression should "just get over it!".
